Read and appreciated. Even before Covid and gentrification sent me from a city of nearly a million to a suburban town of 30,000 where I knew, and know, no one, I knew about isolation–much of it involuntary but most of it voluntary, because when it comes to the things most people do or like, or even eat, I remember what Bob Dylan said, laughing, to the press around 1965 when asked how he felt about most people he meets: “I don’t like them!”
